MNCCI AND ADB TO STRENGTHEN COOPERATION ON INVESTMENT LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Secretary General of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), Ms. Saruul Bulgan, and Secretary General of the Mongolian International Arbitration Center, Mr. Shinebayar, held a meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to exchange views on strengthening investment law and dispute resolution, mediation, and future cooperation.

The meeting was attended by ADB representatives, including Ms. Christina Pak, Principal Counsel, Law and Policy Reform, Office of the General Counsel; Ms. Maria Cecilia T. Sicangco, Counsel, Law and Policy Reform; and Ms. Annette Magnusson, International Investment Law and Policy Expert.

ADB shared its experience in implementing a range of successful projects and technical assistance programs across Central Asia in recent years, aimed at improving the legal environment, dispute resolution, and mediation process for investment and enhancing institutional capacity. ADB also expressed its intention to continue and expand these initiatives in Mongolia.

In this context, MNCCI and the Mongolian International Arbitration Center agreed to cooperate with ADB in implementing training programs and technical assistance aimed at strengthening the legal and regulatory knowledge of Mongolia’s private sector, building institutional capacity, and improving the effective resolution of investment disputes.
The parties emphasized that this cooperation will play an important role in improving Mongolia’s business environment, enhancing investor confidence, and promoting the adoption of international best practices in investment law enforcement and dispute resolution.
