MONGOLIAN-AUSTRIAN BUSINESS FORUM SUCCESSFULLY HELD IN ULAANBAATAR

The Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), in cooperation with ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA and partner organizations, successfully organized the Mongolian-Austrian Business Forum in Ulaanbaatar on 16 June 2026.

The forum brought together representatives of government institutions, business organizations, investors, and companies from both countries to explore opportunities for expanding trade, investment, technology transfer, and bilateral business cooperation.

Opening the forum, MNCCI President Mr. Lkhagvajav Baatarjav highlighted the long-standing friendship between Mongolia and Austria and emphasized the importance of strengthening economic cooperation through practical business partnerships. He noted that combining Austria’s advanced technologies, innovation, and high standards with Mongolia’s growing market and resource potential creates significant opportunities for mutually beneficial projects.

The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Wolf-Dietrich Heim, Ambassador of Austria to Mongolia, Mr. G. Ulziisaikhan, Director – General of the Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Ms. Elisabeth Weissenböck, Head of Directorate for Foreign Economic Relations at the Austrian Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Tourism, as well as the private sectors of both countries.

Leading Austrian companies operating in the fields of healthcare infrastructure, medical engineering, renewable energy, hydropower technology, railway and transport infrastructure, industrial engineering, mining, materials science, education, research, culture, and creative technologies presented their expertise and explored partnership opportunities with Mongolian counterparts.

The forum concluded with B2B meetings between Mongolian and Austrian companies, facilitating direct discussions on potential collaborations in trade, investment, and technology, while laying the groundwork for future partnerships. MNCCI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the introduction of Austrian technologies and know-how to Mongolia and to fostering long-term, mutually beneficial business cooperation between the two countries.
