MNCCI President Amartuvshin.O calls for investment and cooperation at "Mongolian-Korean Business Forum"
During the official visit of Mongolian Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene.L to the Republic of Korea, the "Mongolian-Korean Business Forum" was organized on 14th February, 2023. The event was attended by Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene.L, Chairman of the Korea-Mongolia Economic Cooperation Committee Kim Yong-hun, Deputy Minister of Trade of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea Jong Dae-jin, as well as over 140 representatives from Korea and more than 80 representatives from 60 enterprises of Mongolia.
During the "Mongolian-Korean Business Forum" several notable individuals made presentations on different topics. President of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Amartuvshin.O, spoke about "Business opportunities in Mongolia: non-mining exports," while Khurelbaatar.Ch, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development of Mongolia, presented on the "Economic and investment environment of Mongolia." Ganbaatar.J, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry, focused on "Cooperation in Mongolia's Mining Industry." In addition, Dr. Pak Junghu, a researcher from the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), gave a presentation on the "Achievements and successes of the past 33 years of Mongolia-Korea Economic Cooperation and Partnership" and presented a report on "future trends."
In his speech at the "Mongolian-Korean Business Forum," Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Amartuvshin said that trade turnover between the two countries increased to 702.3 million US dollars in 2022, with exports reaching 277 million US dollars and imports reaching 424.6 million US dollars. Amartuvshin also noted that Mongolia has abundant resources and opportunities for export beyond mining products, and identified imports such as tobacco, oil, vehicles, liquid food, noodles, and electric accumulators.
Amartuvshin, also urged Korean entrepreneurs to consider investing in Mongolia, highlighting the country's openness to developing mutually beneficial business relationships and adopting advanced technologies. He emphasized MNCCI’s willingness to act as a bridge to the Mongolian market and facilitate business cooperation between the two countries.
