N.Tserenbat, Minister of Environment and Tourism, took part in the ‘Business Breakfast’ event organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) on February 5. He talked about urgent problems faced to the environmental and tourism sectors, solutions for them and relevant works to be done in near future.
The Minister pointed out that the government is planning to work to introduce the most up-to-date technologies in the environmental sphere, to create E-book about environment as well as online data of protected and mining areas. The mining online data will include information classified into 34 directions in 14 categories, and it is expected to open in mid of May, he said.
“Complaints and petitions will reduce and all the information about special licenses will become more transparent because the online data will display history of mining entities. In addition to it, some progressive technologies will be used to make environmental protection works considerably easier,” the Minister said. He also spoke of restoring forestry and supporting responsible mining. Then he pledged to give long-term credit to those entities who introduced technologies of reusing water.
Following the Minister’s speech, delegates of specialized unions and the private sector asked questions and received certain answers from the Minister.
