  • U.Khurelsukh PM addresses Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018

    After having finished an official visit to the People’s Republic of China, U.Khurelsukh, Prime Minister of Mongolia, delivered a speech at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018 held under a theme "An Open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity" on April 8-11 in Hainan.

    In his speech, the Premier emphasized Mongolia is one of the founding states of the Boao Forum that is committed to promoting regional economic integration and bringing Asian countries even closer to their development goals, and the country has been attending the annual forum at a state and governmental level. Mongolia considers the Boao Forum as a crucial platform allowing Asian nations discuss topics on widening the regional trade and economic cooperation and tackling urgent problems, he underlined.

    U.Khurelsukh affirms a Mongolia’s policy on active participation in the regional political and economic multilateral integration, saying that Mongolia supports an idea of developing the trade and economic cooperation between Asian countries in more transparent and adequate ways.

    Saying that the economic growth, investment and business environment are reviving in Mongolia, the Premier pointed out Mongolia intends to diversify its economy by developing the agriculture, foods, light industry and tourism sectors.

    “Mongolia sees the Belt and Road Initiative as a tool to play a vital role in ensuring the regional and global peace and stability and accelerating the economic development, thus Mongolia intends to implement its Development Road Program in harmony of the Belt and Road Initiative and to build a Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor as soon as possible,” he said.

    This year’s Boao Forum gathered top leaders of countries and international organizations, including Antуnio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Presidents and Prime Ministers of Austria, Philippines, Netherlands, Pakistan, Singapore; investors, businesspeople and scholars.
