“The TOP 100 enterprises of Mongolia 2020” has been announced
The Government of Mongolia and Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an event for the 20th year to announce rankings of TOP-100 enterprises. This year, for the second year in a row, the event has been organized online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the online event O.Amartuvshin, President of MNCCI, said “The total amount of taxes paid by Mongolia's top 100 companies in 2020 reached MNT 4.2 trillion, accounting for 49 percent of total tax revenue. Despite declining tax and financial indicators due to the difficult economic and business environment, the number of employees in the TOP 100 increased by 2000 from the previous year to 91000, accounting for 8.1 percent of total employment. These indicators show the great value of f the TOP 100 enterprises role in solving today’s social and economic problems.
The ranking of the TOP 100 enterprises is based on the official data and reports of the Ministry of Finance, the General Department of Taxation, the General Department of Customs and the General Department of Social Insurance. The key indicators are the income of the year, state budget contributions of their tax payments, number of employees paying social insurance, net profit and total assets.
TOP-100 enterprises of Mongolia 2020 in terms of operation consist of 28 companies in the trade and service sector, 24 companies in the mining and manufacturing sector, 10 companies in the oil supply sector, 9 companies in the construction sector, 9 companies in the food and light industry, 13 in banking, finance, telecommunications, transportation and logistics sectors, and 7 companies in the heavy industry, electricity and heat industries.
