TRADE AND ECONOMIC RELATIONS BETWEEN INDIA AND MONGOLIA HAVE BEEN INCREASING IN RECENT YEARS

During the state visit of the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, to the Republic of India, more than 60 Mongolian business representatives, led by the President of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), B. Lkhagvajav, accompanied the delegation.
On October 15, 2025, the India-Mongolia Business Forum was successfully held in New Delhi, bringing together over 150 companies from both countries representing the mining, energy, food and agriculture, manufacturing, and construction sectors. Participants exchanged information and held B2B meetings to explore opportunities for cooperation.
The forum aimed to enhance trade and investment between the two nations and to explore untapped potential in Mongolia’s rapidly developing sectors such as mining, renewable energy, information technology, tourism, food production, and infrastructure.

In the opening session, speeches were delivered by MNCCI President B. Lkhagvajav and former President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Madhav Singhania. They highlighted the importance of expanding economic relations and strengthening business linkages between the two countries.
H.E. S. Amarsaikhan, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, and H.E. Atul Malhari Gotsurve, Ambassador of India to Mongolia, also addressed the forum, underscoring that the long-standing friendship between the two nations has evolved into a strategic partnership, with growing cooperation in trade, economy, energy, infrastructure, and education.
During the event, the MNCCI and the Confederation of Indian Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation, marking a new step toward expanding business relations between the two nations.
Within the framework of the forum, Mongolian and Indian representatives delivered presentations and exchanged views on cooperation opportunities in sectors such as economy, mining, transport and logistics, energy, and pharmaceuticals.
